The Geographical Center of the 48 States is marked by a seven-foot rock monument with a flagpole flying the Kansas and USA flags. The memorial was unveiled on April 25, 1940, by the Lebanon Hub Club. Visitors are invited to sign the guest register, read the notes left by previous visitors, and bring gifts to leave for the people following them. In 1940, the U. S. Coast and Geodetic Survey built the landmark. It is a beautiful piece of art. It features a large brass plaque declaring it the Geographic Center of the United States. Park benches and a picnic shelter surround the monument. In addition, there is a small church with six people seating. Inside, a Christian cross atop the Lower 48 map hangs beneath carved wooden and prayer letters. A wooden heart is also.

The Geographical Center of the 48 States is a historical fact about the U.S. Its location has changed over the years as it became a new nation and acquired new states. It's not easy to find the center of the country because the shape of the U.S. is curved, making it difficult to find. However, the exact location could be determined with the help of satellite data and supercomputers.
