The editors at The East Coast Traveler love keeping an eye on the Mid-Atlantic's expanding culinary scene, and this new location promises an experience rooted entirely in the Eido family's Lebanese cooking traditions. These are not just recipes inspired by the past—they are the exact dishes the family still cooks, shares, and gathers around today.
A Menu Rooted in Tradition (With a Local Twist)
Diners can expect a menu featuring daily fresh-baked breads, authentic shawarma, and signature family specialties. However, Kareem's is also giving its Maryland debut a distinctly local spin by offering a unique Maryland Crab Hummus—brilliantly pairing one of the State most iconic ingredients with a classic Lebanese staple.
Leading the kitchen is third-generation Chef Rachid Eido. After building a prestigious culinary career at the Four Seasons and throughout the broader Washington region, Chef Eido helped launch the first Kareem's in Naples, Florida, in 2018. Now, he is bringing his family's beloved food back to a region he knows exceptionally well.
"Every dish carries something my family taught me," Chef Eido explained. "When people ask what makes this place special, that's really the answer — everything is rooted in family values."
