Houston is The Cultural Center of Texas

One of the most famous museums in the city is the Houston Museum of Fine Arts.  This institution has a collection of more than 65,000 works of art, including paintings, sculptures, and decorative art. With more than 6,000 years of art history to explore, it's a great place to learn more about the history of art.



Another museum in the city is the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. This museum has an extensive collection of American paintings, silverware, and decorative arts. Also located in the area is the Houston Museum of Natural Science. This is a must if you're looking for a place to visit with the family.

The Museum District is a short distance from downtown Houston. A 17-block area, this district is home to theaters, restaurants, and parks. Visitors can enjoy the beauty of the landscape as they discover the collections.



Another attraction in the Houston area is the Bayou Place Entertainment Complex. This sizeable multi-level building features several restaurants, bars, and theaters. Another of the most popular spots in Houston is the Art Car Museum. This is a unique museum that displays a rotating selection of vehicles. Some vehicles are still in working condition, while others are decorated with intricate art. You can also see police cruisers, hippie vans, derby racers, and other unique vehicles.
