Following a highly anticipated groundbreaking ceremony in late 2025, construction is now visible at the site of the first-ever Buc-ee’s in Kansas. Located in Kansas City, KS, near the famous Kansas Speedway, the massive travel center is on schedule to welcome its first customers in 2027.

Location & Scale

The new travel center is rising at 601 Village West Parkway, situated at the bustling intersection of Interstate 70 and 110th Street. This prime real estate places Buc-ee's in the heart of the Village West tourism district, neighbors with the Kansas Speedway, Hollywood Casino, and Legends Outlets.

What to Expect

Kansans who have previously had to drive three hours south to the Springfield, MO location will soon have a Buc-ee’s in their own backyard. The store will feature all the cult classics:

Economic Impact

The project was greenlit by the Unified Government of Wyandotte County in late 2024, accompanied by an economic incentive package to support infrastructure improvements around the Speedway. The store is expected to bring significant economic energy to the area:



Timeline

Kansas FlagWith the site currently being graded and initial structures going vertical, the project is moving swiftly. While an exact opening month has not yet been locked in, company officials are targeting a 2027 grand opening. Until then, the growing structure off I-70 serves as a daily reminder that brisket and clean bathrooms are on the way.
