Angelo's in South Philadelphia
As soon as I arrived at Angelo's, I could immediately sense the vibrant energy in the air. The cozy shop was filled with a diverse crowd of hungry customers eager to get their hands on a slice of heaven. Craft sodas lined the refrigerator, promising a refreshing complement to awaited savory delights.
The service at Angelo's was amiable, and the owner, Danny DiGiampietro, could often be seen chatting with the customers. He was evidently passionate about his food, and his dedication was reflected in every bite. Despite the constant flow of people, the ordering process was efficient, and before I knew it, my carefully packaged cheesesteak was ready for me.
Angelo's offers a tempting array of options to suit every palate. The customization possibilities were endless, from classic beef and chicken cheesesteaks to a variety of cheese choices like Cooper Sharp, American, Provolone, and Cheese Whiz. Additionally, they have specialty options like the Pizza Steak, the Buffalo Chicken Cheesesteak, and the fiery Diavlo Pizza Steak. To top it all off, an assortment of toppings such as lettuce, tomato, mushrooms, sweet peppers, hot cherry peppers, roasted peppers, and roasted Italian long hots were available to elevate the flavor profile of the sandwich.
It's worth mentioning that Angelo's is primarily a take-out-only establishment that operates exclusively with cash. They don't provide any seating indoors or outdoors or offer any side dishes or fries. But that didn't bother me one bit. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into the cheesesteak, so I swiftly returned to my car, ready to savor every delicious bite of this fantastic meal on the go.
