Visiting Padre Island National Seashore in Texas
The National Seashore is located between Corpus Christi and Port Aransas. It is open to the public seven days a week. It offers several activities, such as fishing, nature tours, campfire programs, and bird watching walks.
The National Seashore offers camping on a first come, first served basis. You can camp overnight in tents or RV's. You can also rent a cabin. You can also camp on the beach. The entrance fee for the park is $10 per vehicle, per day. You can also purchase an annual pass for $20.
If you wish to drive on the beach, you must follow certain rules. Vehicles that are less than 20 meters in length are required to display lights as prescribed by the Coast Guard. Boats are not permitted. You must also display a sound producing device. You must also keep your pets on a leash at all times.
The most popular attractions are the Bob Hall Pier and Mikel May's Beachside Bar and Grill. The National Seashore also offers special events and programs. These include campfire programs, bird watching walks, and mini talks.
