GEORGIA - The wellness-focused community of Serenbe just welcomed a highly anticipated culinary addition with serious star power. Music legend and 11-time Grammy winner Chaka Khan has officially opened the doors to Chaka's Plantbaed Café, a vibrant new eatery located in Chattahoochee Hills, Georgia.
Following a celebratory ribbon-cutting ceremony held in early November, the restaurant is now serving a 100% plant-based, organic, soy-free, and GMO-free menu to the public.
The café represents a unique partnership between Khan, her sister Tammy Michelle, and Anne Onyeneho, the founder and culinary director of the Atlanta-based Plantbaed restaurant group. The collaboration was born out of a genuine appreciation for the food; Khan, who lives in Serenbe, loved Plantbaed's offerings so much that she wanted to bring the experience closer to home.
A Menu With Soul
At the heart of the new café is a menu that transforms traditional comfort foods into healthy, plant-based masterpieces without sacrificing flavor. Onyeneho and Khan worked closely to curate an offering featuring completely whole-food ingredients, notably using seasoned ground walnuts as a clever, protein-packed replacement for beef.
The undisputed centerpiece of the menu is the Chaka Bowl ($22.50). Designed specifically around Khan’s favorite ingredients, the bowl features a base of cilantro-lime wild rice and black beans, layered with the signature ground walnut "meat," pumpkin-seed jalapeño pesto, and fresh pico de gallo. The entire dish is finished with a drizzle of the house-made "Through the Fire" sauce—a clever nod to one of Khan’s iconic hits.

- Walnut Meat Street Tacos ($18.50): Three flour tortillas loaded with ground walnut meat, pico de gallo, and roasted tomato hempseed sauce.
- Fried Oyster Shroom Sandwich ($17.00): Spelt-battered crispy oyster mushrooms served on a brioche bun with seasonal greens and hempseed aioli.
- Loaded Nachos ($23.00): Fried flour tortillas piled high with walnut meat, guacamole, and roasted tomato hempseed sauce.
- Soursop Colada ($12.50): A refreshing blend of soursop, pear, key lime, ginger, and agave nectar.
The kitchen is deeply committed to local sourcing. The café utilizes fresh produce harvested directly from nearby Serenbe Farms to create dishes like the Serenbe "Cobb" Salad and various seasonal vegetable sides, ensuring the restaurant remains deeply connected to the local agricultural community.
