Elvis Presley Birthplace and Museum
It is open Monday through Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, and Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00. Tickets are only sold at the front desk. It costs $8 for adults and $5 for kids 7-12. There are several other sites in Tupelo related to the singer.
The home where Elvis was born in a two-room shotgun-style house from the 1930s. It is now restored to its original location. It is decorated with period furniture. The grounds are also open to the public at any time.
There is a gift shop where visitors can purchase souvenirs. A bronze statue of Elvis as a child is also located at home. The statue is based on a famous photo taken during a show. The memorial property is about half a mile from the interstate. The grounds are open anytime the grounds are not being used for a show.
A sign at home explains the history of the property. The memorial property features a beautiful fountain. There is a garden area that holds a candlelight vigil during the evenings.
The site is also home to an outdoor outhouse, which is used by members of the community. It is marked with bronze markers.
