A Unique Train Ride Through The Mountains And Valley

Unlike many other attractions, the Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe offers a unique train ride through the mountains and valley.  A ride on the railroad will take you through the picturesque Lehigh Valley. The scenic railway makes scheduled stops at White Haven, where you can hop on bikes and ride back to Jim Thorpe. The Lehigh is a popular destination for families.



The Lehigh Gorge Scenic Railway in Jim Thorpe is a scenic train ride that winds through Lehigh Gorge State Park. The ride ends in White Haven at the D&L (Lehigh River) Lehigh-Lehigh Gorge Trail. You'll find plenty of biking trails and parking areas, so it's a good idea to plan.

During the spring and summer, the railroad offers several seasonal events. Visitors can visit in April and May to enjoy the Easter Bunny Special. In winter, the train travels through snow-covered landscapes and offers Christmas-themed packages. You can also take the train into the Lehigh Gorge State Park and experience the snowy landscapes. During the winter, the train runs on weekends only.
