On Nov 5th 2026, the pair launched Good Truckin' REO Bites, a new casual dining concept in the original 850 sq ft space at 1107 S. Washington Ave. in Lansing.
A New Chapter for a Historic Space
Sinicropi and Gorman ran their notoriously cramped diner in the REO Town space for nearly 10 years and were accustomed to lines of customers around the block. After moving the main diner operation to a much larger building at 1218 Turner St. (and recently opening The Other Side in the adjacent suite), they felt it was time to do something with the building where it all began.
Good Truckin' REO Bites is a strictly counter-service operation, designed to be a quick, tasty, casual meal. It has both indoor space and a very welcoming outdoor patio.
What's on the Menu?
While Good Truckin' Diner built its huge reputation on the rather elaborate breakfast plates and massive burgers, REO Bites is clearly going down the path of a very accessible, grab-and-go menu.
The new kitchen focuses on classic comfort food and street-food-style items. You can get loaded hot dogs, fresh tacos, and big bowls of mac and cheese. The menu also features several substantial sandwiches, with the 'meatball hero' as a particular highlight (a very substantial sandwich with marinara and loads of melted mozzarella).
The concept is also a perfect stop for the sweet tooth. The menu offers a good range of desserts, including soft serve, thick milkshakes, and the usual soda floats.
Whether you're a diehard fan of the original diner or just a newcomer looking for a good solid lunch, the return of Sinicropi and Gorman to REO Town is a real winner for the South Washington Avenue corridor.
