Whether you are pulling up to the marina on a boat or strolling over after a day on the beach, the vibe here is instantly relaxing. The entire experience is often enhanced by great live music that sets the tone for the evening, but the real star of the show is the view—you can't beat watching the sunset from this vantage point.

Lobster Nachos, Ribeye Flatbread, and Fresh Catch

The kitchen here knows exactly how to cater to a hungry beach crowd, turning out consistently delicious, incredibly fresh plates. During our fabulous visit this past weekend, we ordered a spread that hit every single mark:

Of course, a sunset dinner requires a great drink, and the bar program doesn't disappoint. The cocktails, like their signature Zippy, were well-mixed, refreshing, and exactly what you want after a day in the sun.

Friendly Management and Excellent Hospitality

Great food and views can only take a restaurant so far; it is the hospitality that makes you want to return. The service we received was incredibly attentive and friendly. The staff and management clearly take pride in their work, providing excellent service that keeps the dining experience smooth and enjoyable, even during a busy summer weekend.

The Verdict

Whalehouse Point Restaurant delivers a quintessential Fire Island dining experience. Between the incredible lobster and shrimp nachos, the fresh fish tacos, and those stunning sunset views, it is a waterfront destination that hits all the right notes. With friendly service and a lively atmosphere, it is the perfect place to unwind, grab a cocktail, and soak in the beauty of the seashore.
