The atmosphere here is outstanding. When you sit outside right on the water, it is incredibly nice and relaxing. If you prefer to eat indoors, the inside dining room is gorgeous as well, offering a completely rebuilt and redecorated interior.
Lobster Mac, Perfectly Cooked Calamari, and Fresh Swordfish
The kitchen focuses on serving a wide variety of fresh, well-prepared seafood and classic American steaks. During a recent weekend visit to celebrate a family birthday, we ordered several dishes across the menu, and the food and drinks were absolutely outstanding:
- The Calamari: Cooked perfectly, packed with flavor, and importantly, not greasy at all.
- The Swordfish: It was my first time having swordfish, and it was simply amazing—fresh and expertly prepared.
- Surf and Turf & Lobster Mac: I personally had the surf and turf, which was cooked exactly to our liking, arriving incredibly tender and flavorful. Paired with their highly popular, creamy lobster mac and cheese, it made for an unforgettable meal.
Excellent Service and Waterfront Hospitality
A great waterfront meal is only as good as its hospitality, and the staff at Peter's Clam Bar truly excels. Despite it being a busy weekend, the service was excellent. We were taken care of immediately, and the friendly staff ensured everything came out great and everyone at the table was happy.

Peter's Clam Bar delivers exactly what a classic Long Island seafood experience should be: fresh, flavorful dishes, a gorgeous waterfront atmosphere, and stellar service. Between the tender surf and turf, the fantastic calamari, and the undeniable charm of a historic 1939 dockside establishment, this Island Park gem is a definite must-try spot that we will absolutely be returning to.
