What is Key West Florida's Hemingway Days

The five-day festival celebrates the talent of Key West's most famous resident and legendary writer Ernest Hemingway.

Hemingway called Key West home for most of the 1930s. History aficionados can view rare artifacts and memorabilia from the author's life, featuring 59 original drawings by marine wildlife artist Guy Harvey.

The illustrations feature Hemingway's "The Old Man and the Sea." The museum's admission is free when you mention Hemingway Days.

Artist Beth Yarbrough, the co-author of "Jean Laffite Revealed," will lead a twilight walking tour showcasing Hemingway's Key West Friday on July 23 at 6 p.m.

The tour is a mix of local history, humor, and fun facts about Key West, which ends with a sunset happy hour on top of the verandah of the Custom House Museum.

The presentation and walking tour are both presented by the Key West Art & Historical Society, which holds many of Hemingway's artifacts.
