The Sounds of the Jazz Age
The soundtrack for the evening will be provided by one of Philadelphia's most authentic and energetic jazz ensembles, Drew Nugent and The Midnight Society. Known for their mastery of early 20th-century hot jazz and Tin Pan Alley tunes, their performance will set the perfect tone, transporting the secret location into a grand Gatsby-era ball. Other bands and performers are expected to be announced closer to the event date.
Dancing the Charleston:
It wouldn't be a Jazz Age party without the iconic dance. Guests will have the opportunity to learn from the best with Charleston lessons courtesy of the Gimlet Girls. This fun, interactive element will encourage everyone to get up and dance, embracing the high-energy spirit of the 1920s.
Atmosphere and Activities:
To further enhance the theme, the event will feature other delightful touches designed to evoke the era of F. Scott Fitzgerald's masterpiece:
- Vintage Cars: Providing stunning and authentic photo opportunities.
- Croquet: Guests can enjoy a classic lawn game, perfect for a leisurely summer evening.
- 1920s Flair: Attendees are encouraged to accessorize their all-white outfits with a nod to the era—think flapper-style headbands, long pearl necklaces, boater hats, and bow ties.
"We're thrilled to celebrate 100 years of The Great Gatsby by bringing the glamour and spirit of the Jazz Age into the 21st century," said Co-Host Natanya DiBona. "We know our guests will pull out all the stops with their stunning tablescapes and show-stopping outfits."
This unique theme adds another layer of magic and creativity to an already unforgettable event, promising a night of elegance, entertainment, and timeless celebration for the over 5,000 guests expected to attend.
